Question Intro/HU Wiring Issues

Hi all, I'm a forum 1st timer and am after some assistance with a wiring issue I have and can't resolve yet. So I bought and "installed" a Kenwood DPX5000BT HU to compliment my Kenny 12" Sub, Powervox amp and temporary 250W 2 way door speakers and have somehow managed to wire it so the headlights turn the HU on, not the Accessory :/ Any ideas on how this muppet can resolve my n00b mistake?

Also, some assistance/recommendations on how to manually set the EQ on the HU and Amp to suit Heavy Metal would greatly be appreciated. Cheers

OK, that's WEIRD. Did you use an integration harness? If so, which brand?

That's what I thought! And no, I only used the harness provided with the HU and wired that to the factory wires. Everthing seems to work fone, expect that turning the headlights on, turns the HU on, as apposed to the Acc.

So you cut the factory connector off. Ya dun goofed. That's a BIG NO-NO. And I 100% guarantee that's what's causing your problems. You mis-wired something.

Hopefully you didn't throw the factory connector away. Solder it back on, spend $12 for a harness adapter, your issues will go away.
